BZ!   TOP ON "MY FAVORITES" LIST!
I'M NOT VERY GOOD AT THE "WWW" STUFF YET, BUT THE SOUND ON "LAST CALL" PLAYED INTERMITTANTLY. I'LL MAKE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE SOUND LINKS NEXT TIME.
Chuck Calvano  8th 4 Aug 1999 Absolutely first rate!  Professional, informative.  Every time I found myself thinking "they should have included XXX", within a few minutes, there it was!     I'm proud of the site.   Thanks
The link between name and Lucky Bag picture, if possible within memory limits, etc., is a GREAT idea!
Comments on privacy:
an "anonymous" locater like the USMA one is fine.  But I,  personally, have no problem with having my e-mail address shown.
Comments on evaluation summary:
It's great already.  The things you are working on or considering seem to be the right things to make it even better.      Is there a way I can help? [Webmaster:  Chuck found a great way to help:  he typed in all the Lucky Bag bios for 8th Co.  Thx, Chuck!]
Alan R. "Nick" Sim   5th 9 Aug 1999  Damn good, gentlemen.  I haven't reviewed it in entirety, but this is terrific.  My compliments to Messers. Blackledge and Kennedy.
 Michael S. Krause   23rd  15 Aug 1999
 Gerald (Jerry) H. Olendzenski  13th  17 Aug 1999  Absolutely brilliant!  I logged in to usna.com about 4
months ago and was very disappointed by what came up. I'm thrilled to be part of this organization again.
Keep up the excellent work. I'll be back in the near future with update information. Godspeed.
 Jim Eckert   3 3 Sep 1999
Walter Breede  15 3 Sep 1999  Delighted to have it, will drop by frequently, thanks you  guys!  Good ideas, all!
Peter Featherstone   4 7 Sep 1999  I can't believe Blackie, Kennedy, et al actually did this!
You guys really were smarter than the rest of us.  I'm sure I'll now spend hours that I can ill afford logged on to OUR web site.
Is there a place/format to go to that would facilitate the updating of our personal bios?  Harvard B School sends me a computer generated thing about once every 6 months, which of course hardly changes.  Maybe something like that would help push guys like me to be more participatory and communicative.
Locator:  only if it's fairly simple for a clutz like me to remember how to use.  If it's too convoluted, I won't use it.
I think its terrific.  I'm proud to be associated with you geniouses.
 J. W. 'Bill' Sheehan  First 9 Sep 1999  Very well done and easy to navigate. I wish my company's was as compact.    Comments on privacy:
Currently, I see no problem with publishing Email
addresses.  I might change my mind if a lot of SPAM suddenly shows up because of a published list.
Super job - Thanks to all
Boley, John   8 9 Sep 1999  A great job has been done in developing this site and it is obvious that on-going maintenance is happening.
Congratulations to all who have spent the obvious long hours in putting it together.  I have spent several hours this morning going through all of it!  BZ
I like the direction and thank Chuck Calvano for filling in 8th company biographies.
 Comments on privacy:
I think that attempting to maintain privacy in today's world is in reality a 'fools errand', however it is something that should be respected and will enhance participation by those for whom it is a significant concern.
 Raymond T. Theep  2nd 22 Oct 1999 I always thought that there were 867 graduates, not 876?

23 Oct 1999 I think the web site is the finest I have ever seen. I have literally spent hours reading it.  My own name was mentioned with respect to the placing of Stephen Toth's name in Mem Hall. In fact, there were a lot of people involved, ranging from Jim Ennes (USS Liberty Command Duty Officer during the attack), Liberty Veterans Association members, Adm. Moorer, Admiral Garrick, SecNav Garrett, Capt. Busik, Admiral Hill, WJ Stewart, Congressman Lagomarsino, Mike Shelley, Adm. McNitt, Pete McCloskey, Adm Holloway plus ...
George Singer  10th 14 Nov 1999 I am truly impressed with this site. It is very easy to
read, get around in and contains excellent content. My hat is off to those that developed it and I look forward to using it more as time goes on.
Plan of the Day:
Almost more info than I can read in one session, but a wonderful reminder of long forgotten facts - even has justification for some of the stories I've told over the years!
 Lee H. Livingston  1st  10 Dec 1999
Johnston, William H.  (non-grad)  30 Dec 1999 Had I been able to distiguish red from green, I might have been one of you.  As it was, several high school classmates ended up there and it's a grand opportunity to see how things progressed with them.  I also view it as an admirable tribute to all of us who came of age in the 60's.
Certainly a time when it was difficult to find a place in the world.  All of us, and you especially should be proud of the fact that we did what needed to be done.
Enjoyed Pride and Tradition.
I wish I could get some of those Dick Whalen Prints.
Interesting to read Pat Conroy's eulogy to Santini. Pat and Don were at a party here in Atlanta and I asked Pat to autograph Beach Music, which he did.  Don grabbed the book and signed the inside of the back cover.  "I like to have the last word," he said.

3 Jan 2000 I feel very fortunate to have discovered this web site.   Many thanks to the folks who maintain and update it. It is colorful, neat appearing, (well, with your backgrounds, what else?).  It's purpose is clear and will be invaluable to me in searching out those people that I formed a close relationship with in 1959-1960.
Comments on Electronic Lucky Bag:
This is a fascinating link.  I spent hours looking at the  pictures and reading about the classmates in the 24th company (old 16th I would say) that I had lost touch with or lost from memory.
Very fine site!  I would only suggest to add the monthly links to every Shipmate column page so that one could navigate from Jan to Feb without returning to "Shipmate home".
Thanks for a great addition to my bookmarks!
Eric Krieger  16th  11 Apr 2000  Thanks, guys, for an exceptionally fine job!
Being in the business of helping others put web sites
together, I KNOW how much work went into this site.
I enjoyed the site.  It's thoughtfully done... hard to be
structured yet retain a "normal" feel.  Good job, and
thanks!
Very well done, except  I discovered that having current data seems to lock out the Electronic Lucky Bag picture's being responsive to clicking, and I was not allowed to edit the current current data.    Since we want people to put in current data, I would suggest a BIG button labelled "ENTER CURRENT DATA" or "UPDATE CURRENT DATA" and  allow people to "copy" and send revised current data via Email for updates to ther pages or even others (will become more applicable in cases of obits, etc.)
Vince Gilroy   19th   21 Apr 2000   Fantastic; I really appreciated everything I have seen and I have just started.

Sun, 21 May 2000  Just found out about this and am highly impressed with the job you have done putting this site together.  It will take awhile to explore.  Have already answered a lot of longstanding questions and am really sorry to see how many of us have gone beyond.  A great class.
Patricia Bredthauer  Mon, 26 June 2000 I had been searching for some time for the whereabouts of Michael Owen who had been almost a family member from 1963-1968. We lost touch in 1968 and then I had no address for him after his aunts in Mo. died. I wish I had some knowledge about his death other than just a date.

I commend you on this site. I was married to a member of the class of 1961 and have had many, many friends over the years who graduated from the Academy. Your site is the best on the web that I have seen. Thank you so much.

Ed Hutcheson 10 17 Aug 2000 Today I received an e-mail birthday greeting from the Class of 63...what a pleasant surprise! I also went to the web site and have started my tour....I am a first time visitor. Thanks...A great looking site.
